The Unbearable Banishment: Newsflash

Newsflash

I received some horrific news this morning. Someone wrote to say they were unable to enter a comment on my last post. The only reason I blog is for the warm, whorey feeling I get when I read the comments. And, let's face it, what’s better about blogging than the party going on in the comments section? Not much.

So I hope it’s just a temporary glitch and not something that’s been taken away from me permanently. How dare they. How dare they introduce this satisfying, albeit trite, thing into my otherwise humdrum life and then deprive me of it. If I weren't so damn lazy I’d tuck my tail between my legs and head over to Wordpress.

I switched to Wordpress. Am yet to be impressed. Blogger is just easier to use. Wordpress is awesome is you're technically gifted (I'm not).

Wordpress does allow you to have a couple of tabs/sections within your blog.

I got an error code...but just clicked back and redid it. No problemo! It's ok, your comments are just weeding out the lazy ones.

Sid - blogger lets you have separate tabs and pages now too...

SB: Imagine my relief. You're like a nurse dispensing medicine. I am,once again, feeling like the proud attention whore I am.

Savannah: I owe you $1.

Sid: I like the comment functionality of Wordpress. It's much neater.

Jo: The Met has a suggested admission of, I think, $15, but you can pay whatever you want. MoMA is ridiculous, something like $20, but Friday afternoons are free. I've used my corporate ID and haven't paid to get into a museum for years.

It's not just your blog, I've been having problems leaving messages on quite a few others too. :¬(

(Like just now it doesn't show the Word Verification, so I have to enter my Username and Password, click Publish Comment and then do it all again. So here goes.

Yeah, had to go back again and it showed the WV this time, and had to re-enter my password. It's a good job I like you, I wouldn't do this for any old blogger ya know! :¬)

Map: Well, I'm glad it's not just me. Nobody likes to suffer alone or feel like they're being picked on. I appreciate your efforts. Like Savannah, I owe you $1.

Leah: That was your mitzvah for today.

This must be the cause of the serious lack of commenting over on my blog. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with my not posting anymore.

I'm wondering if Blogger is getting overwhelmed with the number of blogs and comments out there and their system is having hiccups because of that... I can only vaguely imagine the amount of bits and bites they have to deal with.

Did I stick???

took me two tries on the last post - the first time, no word verification was visible. just did it again, and it showed up. have run into this on other blogs...

oddly enought, THIS time, there is a happy little word to verify below. weird.

Cat: I'm sure it's a technical glitch. Let's both write nasty letters to Blogspot. They'll be sorry they messed with the likes of us.

HIF: I'm wondering how much work it would be. Can I transfer all my old posts or do they remain in Blogspot limbo?

Daisy: Welcome home, dear! Can't wait for your first post-vacation post.

It's a wide-spread problem. This is my third attempt to say so!

My comments often disappear - even on my own blog. The reason - I'm fairly sure - is because I have forgotten to do the last click, or check I've done the signing in correctly.
I don't imagine I am the only one. I trust it is nothing more sinister than that. Heaven forfend you should got down the forum route where it seems one has to repeat the same details endlessly to little avail.

MIT: I admire your tenacity. You should run for office and root out corruption.

Pat: I certainly hope it's human error. If Blogspot folded, it would take me a while to get over it. BTW, I had to look up "forfend."
