Gratuitous family post

This post is specifically for family lurkers who live 500 miles away and never get to see The Daughters [or Mrs. Wife and I, for that matter]. The rest of you might find this too saccharine. It almost verges into mommy blog territory. *Shudder!*

Here are the little darlings on the beach in Asbury Park flying a kite. It’s off-season and living on the Jersey Shore is suddenly a pleasure. The beaches are gloriously empty and, more importantly, there’s NO shore traffic. Would it be wrong for me to spread rumors of an epidemic next June to keep the seasonals away?

Mrs. Wife has no experience flying a kite, so it’s a lucky thing she brought an old pro like me along.

Here’s a rare full-frontal shot. I assume that only family members have made it this far into the post, so there’s no fear of outing the kiddies to the general public.

Darling indeed! See how easy it is to slip into mommyblogland? A couple of precious children, a lovely wife (and handsome, devoted daddy), an idyllic beach, and a kite, and there you are!

Love the photos!

Savannah: That's what you get for living someplace pretty enough to be in the movies.

Lori: I don't know what came over me. Going forward, I'll leave the mommy blogging to the mommies.

map: Come back in the off season and I'll show you all the beautiful, empty spots. Then, a tour of NYC. How does that sound?

I miss all of you terribly. What Holiday do we get with you this year so I can start planning? I better start making and freezing the 9 pie shells, maybe Thanksgiving?

Beautiful girls.

And beautiful beach! People forget that NJ is more than just Newark! I hope the weather holds out a bit longer so you can enjoy deserted beach on sunny days.

Ive only been to New Jersey once...and we went to Six Flags where I promptly ate half my weight in junk and threw it all up after three rides, then slept all the way back to New York.

Are you telling me Jersey isn't all roller coasters and smog?
